The Forward Motion Differentiation Workshop Success in your job search rests on two specific factors. 1) Finding jobs that are a good fit, and 2) Differentiating yourself both on your cover letter and résumé, as well as during the interview process. These two factors are so critical that each client is strongly encouraged to attend the Forward Motion Differentiation Workshop in their job-seeking process. Participants learn how they manage infromation through a unique Style Delineator. They learn how to apply this information to their job search and use it to identify opportunities that are a good fit. This maximizes their success, once they start their new job. Participants also learn how to apply their unique attributes to the Forward Motion Template that they will use to apply for positions through the online processes required by most businesses. Especially important, job-seekers learn about the filtering systems inside the application software that companies use to reduce the number of potential candidates and how to maximize their success in getting through those systems. Finally, participants learn how to differentiate themselves during the interview process and land job offers. The Forward Motion Differentiation Workshop is offered in groups, in private, and for early career and mid-career participants. |

Basic Program Part 1: The GRADS Forward Differentiation Workshop will benefit you for a lifetime, both personally and professionally. Discover your current communication style and ways to maximize your impact verbally and in writing. Present your best self to others through the messages you send and learn techniques to leave a positive, lasting impression. Part 2: Application Preparation. You will meet virtually with a Career Success Counselor for two yours and, using the concepts from the workshop, you will apply for the job posting of your choice. You will: Clarify and craft your Unique Value Statement (UVS) to differentiate your application from the competition. Identify how your UVS contributes to your prospective employer's success. Prepare your cover letter and résumé with the Forward Motion Templates. Apply for the position through the employer's application process. Part 3: Interview Preparation. In this 2-hour session, you and your Career Success Counselor will prepare for phone and face-to-face interviews.You will: Review the Anatomy of an Interview including the three critical questions. Prepare to deliver your Unique Value Statement (UVS) and differentiate yourself from other candidates. Learn how to respond to objections and prepare your closing statement. Career Startup Not sure what kind of job to look for? ...or what to do with your degree in Philosophy? ...or Economics? In a three-hour session you will work directly with a Career Success Counselor and work through the Forward Motion process to identify a career plan based on your values, attributes, skills, and ideal work environment. Then you and your Counselor will use the Internet to find employment opportunities to launch your career. This process prepares you for a Grads Forward Basic or Premier Program.
